Located just east of Tokyo sits Chiba Marine Stadium along the Pacific Ocean. The stadium was opened in 1990 and holds just over 30,000 baseball fans. The Chiba Lotte Marines call this stadium home and feels a lot like the cookie cutter American Major League Baseball stadiums built in the 1960s and 1970s with its circular design. The playing surface is Field Turf and a large scoreboard sits above the batter's eye in center field.
Before heading in to see a ball game, take a walk though the Marines Team Museum. The museum features displays and memorabilia from the history of the franchise. It is located along the northwest side of the stadium. If you are so inclined, there are also batting cages located along the southeast side of the stadium. Inside the stadium, there is a wide variety of food choices.
Inside the stadium are numerous American food options from Dominos, Baskin-Robbins, and Kono Pizza along with traditional Japanese food options. There is a food court located along the first line with the most variety.
This stadium is one of the few that is somewhat difficult to get to using public transportation as it is located a fair distance from the Kaihin-Makuhari Station on the JR Keiyo Line. You can easily take a cab between the station and the game as there are plenty of taxis lined up after the game to shuttle you to the station.
